Beyond This World is A World I Want

I was just reflecting this morning that there are so many people in this room, there are 39 people. And we’ve all chosen to join together the in the mind of Christ from around the world. And I was just thinking about you, all. Most of you I know and some are new friends, some I’ve stayed in your houses, we’ve done gatherings together, workshops together, retreats together. It’s really the love that’s underneath all of that, that matters.

Just as Lilo was singing, I was remembering you all, because I could see all your faces, all the times we’ve joined and you never leave my mind and you come back to my mind and help me carry on and say, “Beyond this world, there is a world I want.”

And that’s the only reason why I came to your house or you invited me, or we’re here together now; it is incredible when you think about it, that we have the opportunity again to see the Christ in one another. That is the only reason we’re here to see the innocence within yourself.

Before we started I thought the only problem is that we judge ourselves. Even when we think that we’re judging something or someone outside ourselves, we’re still judging ourselves. We’re judging that we’re not the Son of God. On this trip, I feel so grateful for these teachings, because we meet so many people, some don’t do A Course in Miracles, and some do. It’s like day-to-day interactions can turn into big challenges for people and those challenges are completely and utterly not needed, and it’s all because of judgments and false reality, seeing what is not true, and not wanting to see the Christ, and not having up front in our mind that we are innocent, in a true sense. Not a personality self, not a body identity, but the truth of who we are. So the goal is to go back far enough in your mind to find the Self. That’s why we don’t use high spiritual ideas and say them to our brother, such as, “You’re innocent.” Based on what? Unless it is coming from true understanding, you said nothing.

To truly see your brother as innocent as the One Christ Self is everything; it is absolutely everything.

We have to go past all of the concepts. And not just say things, but truly come from knowledge. That’s what Jesus is teaching us, to speak from “Know Thyself.” That’s why he’s always teaching us to see the Christ. If we’re not seeing the Christ, we’re seeing through our own judgments, and letting these judgments go is actually very simple; just declare that they are not true and they’re not who we are.

That’s the incredible gift that we have today, to truly see Christ and to see with love, unconditional love for everyone and everything. It’s all-encompassing love, to include everyone in our hearts deeply, and meaningfully. This is what this time is for, to really have our hearts fully open and to experience that love.

If you think about the interactions that we have with one another. It’s like, this one said this. Then this happened, and then that happened and then I’m forgiving this. That’s not forgiveness.

Forgiveness is completely and utterly overlooking the error, to see that there was no error. That’s the incredible thing that A Course in Miracles offers. That is so simple. Because we’re always getting caught up in the horizontal, and saying, “Oh, there’s a problem between me and this one and I’m forgiving it.” Jesus says, “No, that’s not forgiveness.” And we say, “This seems so real in my dream.” He says, “No, it’s to look so far back in your mind with the Holy Spirit that you see no error.” It is a complete state of mind.

All these thoughts that we have, “I’m not being listened to, I’m not being heard, I’m not being taken care of, This one isn’t doing what they’re supposed to do, I’m trying my best…” is all part of a complete and utter false identity.

We want to reconfirm our conflict within ourselves by trying to deal with it on a horizontal level. We’re saying, “I am a body, and you are a body. And hopefully, we can somehow meet,” and that’s the complete compromise. We believe this to be forgiveness and our practice. But as I just said, Jesus in every given moment is saying, “Now you just look with me,” and the Holy Spirit will give you a completely new interpretation that goes beyond this world, beyond all error, because all you’re seeing is your own belief in sin and your own guilt. Each day we wake up and we have a choice between guilt and innocence. When we get the reflections of guilt, we have to admit, “I’ve chosen guilt today. I’m choosing this as my perception,” and our own mind is the only place where we can change that. Until we see everyone in unconditional love, we’re nowhere whatsoever. As Jesus says, “You don’t realize how loving your brother is. Your brother is incredible. Your brother is your savior.” Not one judgment can be maintained by saying, “I have this one tiny grievance.” As we know, when one tiny cloud covers the sun, we have shade. It needs to be a pristine, clean state of mind. So we can’t be mindless in our mind training. We need to pluck every offense out of our mind and, as Jesus teaches, go above the battleground.

I haven’t seen this movie. Nana has been telling me about it for some time. When this theme came up, beyond this world there is a world I want, we felt that this was the perfect movie for addressing it. Because we want a true reflection of this theme. We can only go into “beyond this world, there is the world I want” without judgment, realizing that you could never judge. Jesus says that the true judgment is that you cannot judge. How can you judge love? When you’re loving, you’re not in judgment.

I was reflecting on this; we all love children. We have a little boy with us in Colombia. His name is Jacob. He’s 19 months old and his eyes are shining brightly. Why do we love children so much? Because they don’t have any judgment in them, do they? Jacob is not judging me. So, therefore, he’s the Christ, because he’s not judging me. He’s teaching me. He has no judgment in his mind and he’s reflecting nonjudgment back to me. And I’m like, “Wow, thank you.” He’s open. He has no defense. He’s completely defenseless.

I was thinking that Jacob is giving me the biggest opportunity of my life; he’s saying, “I’m not judging you. I’m not judging you at all. I’m not judging anything about you.” He doesn’t even know what judgment is and that’s the state of mind of nonjudgment.

In the movie, we have a character who wants to love under all circumstances. Jesus is teaching in a nutshell that if we want to practice something in our minds, something that is very, very simple, no matter what happens to you, good, bad or ugly, indifferent, the answer is always to love fully from your heart. No matter whether the door is slammed in your face or not, you still fully give your heart, your mind, and your soul to that one in true love. And that’s it. That’s all you have to do. You don’t even need the workbook. That’s all you’ve got. It’s incredible, isn’t it? It’s so simple. I’ve got to remember this today.

So this is a paragraph from the Savior’s vision, which is in chapter 31, section seven. I’m gonna read paragraph 13. So you can meditate on these words.

T-31.VII.13. The savior’s vision is as innocent of what your brother is as it is free of any judgment made upon yourself. It sees no past in anyone at all. And thus it serves a wholly open mind, unclouded by old concepts, and prepared to look on only what the present holds. It cannot judge because it does not know. And recognizing this, it merely asks, “What is the meaning of what I behold?” Then is the answer given. And the door held open for the face of Christ to shine upon the one who asks, in innocence, to see beyond the veil of old ideas and ancient concepts held so long and dear against the vision of the Christ in you.

Now we can just take a moment to go inward and just get in touch with our prayer for the movie.

You want to get in touch with your heart and to be very clear on what your goal is, your spiritual goal, the highest goal for yourself. You truly desire the miracle to transform your mind. We allow Jesus and the Holy Spirit and God to come into our mind and show us our true Self, to open our heart to His love, to His peace, and His joy. Amen!

Nana:
Jesus says, “This world holds nothing that you want, but what you choose instead you want indeed! Let it be given you today. It waits but for your choosing it, to take the place of all the things you seek but do not want.” (W-pl.129.6.3) It is given to you, so let’s choose to devote every moment and this to love, to teach us love.

Ken:
And I think a beautiful practice is with all the characters to truly want to see Christ in all of them. That can be our practice, no matter what they think, say, and do. It’s like we say no to the ego and focus on Christ today.

Nana:
There is this trust that whatever is happening in our mind, whatever is on the surface of things, this movie is an answer to that. So the prayer is, “Jesus, help me receive the answer,” because there is no coincidence that we have this movie. The reason we came together, the reason we share all these words is to allow the answer to come to your mind.

The prayer is, “Okay, help me open my mind up to receive the answer, to receive the correction,” because the correction and the miracles are already given to be received. As Ken was saying, let us open our mind to the miracle. And let Jesus restore the faith where it was lost in your mind. That’s the prayer. So there is this trust that this is the answer, and then that you will receive it. No matter what is the question, no matter what it looks like and what it’s about, you will receive that answer because it’s already here.
